Singapore Airlines (SIA) is introducing updates to its KrisFlyer lifestyle rewards programme, starting in September and November 2025. These changes aim to give members more options for earning and using miles, both during flights and on the ground. As published on singaporair.com, includes improved earnings for non-flight spending, new redemption choices, and changes to award rates for flights and upgrades.

Earn Status Credits Beyond Flights
Starting 1 September 2025, KrisFlyer and PPS Club members will earn status credits from everyday spending with Singapore Airlines Group non-flight businesses. Before this, PPS Value was only available on Suites/First and Business Class flights. Elite miles could only be earned through Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Star Alliance, and selected partners. Membership Earning Rate Eligible Spend is as follows
- PPS Club 1 PPS Value per SGD 3 Kris+ shopping & dining (Singapore & Australia), KrisShop purchases, Pelago bookings
- KrisFlyer 1 Elite mile per SGD 1 Kris+ shopping & dining (Singapore & Australia), KrisShop purchases, Pelago bookings
Note: AUD spending in Australia earns proportionately (1 PPS Value per AUD 3 for PPS Club, 1 Elite mile per AUD 1 for KrisFlyer). Earnings count toward tier upgrades and renewals within 12 consecutive months.
Introduction of Access Redemption Feature
Starting 1 November 2025, KrisFlyer will introduce Access redemption. This new feature lets members use their miles to pay for Singapore Airlines flight tickets directly, even when standard award seats are fully booked. Access redemption seats will be available alongside regular award options, giving members more choices for travel. The number of miles needed for each booking will change based on seat demand and may vary throughout the year. Members can easily book through singaporeair.com or the SingaporeAir mobile app. This provides the flexibility to secure preferred flights right away without waiting for award seat availability.
Adjustments to Flight Redemption and Upgrade Rates
As part of a regular review, SIA will update the miles needed for flight redemptions and upgrades for Singapore Airlines, Star Alliance, and partner airlines for flights ticketed on or after 1 November 2025.
Scoot Award Flights
Launched on 13 August 2025, KrisFlyer members can now redeem miles for Scoot flights to over 70 destinations in Economy Class. Members may redeem for themselves or up to five nominees.
- Two categories: Saver (fewer miles, limited inventory) and Advantage (more miles, greater seat availability).
- Saver award for Singapore–Malaysia starts from just 1,500 miles (applies to base fare; extra baggage and meals can be purchased with cash).
Booking is available via FlyScoot.com or the Scoot mobile app.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the upcoming changes to the KrisFlyer program significantly enhance how members can earn and utilize miles. Starting on 1 September 2025, everyday spending on Kris+, KrisShop, and Pelago experiences will count towards PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite status, expanding options beyond flights. Beginning 1 November 2025, members can use Access redemption to book flights right away with miles, even if award seats are sold out. Furthermore, the change in award rates across Singapore Airlines, Star Alliance, and partner airlines creates a more balanced redemption structure. The addition of Scoot award flights offers more choices for budget travel. These updates enhance the value of KrisFlyer membership, providing more opportunities to earn, redeem, and enjoy miles both in the air and on the ground. Published on singaporeair.com.
